Groundbreaking ceremony of Barangay Alegria-Bugho-Cabadiangan-Candasag Farm-to-Market Road

Loboc as a recipient of the Philippine Rural Dev’t Project, is the reason why leaders are gathered for the Ground Breaking Ceremony for the Implementation of the Algeria-Bugho Farm-to-Market Road in Loboc. Project under the IBUILD Component, of the PRDP.

December 18, 2015, marks a very significant day for Lobocanons as they commence a new project worth P56,049,366.18  for the rehabilitation of farm-to-market road, with a total project length of 5.46 kilometers with box culverts, PCCP width of 4.0 meters and PCCP thickness of 0.15 meters. Barangay Alegria, Loboc (93.00 ha), Barangay Cabadiangan (92.00 ha), Barangay Candasag (78.00 ha), and Barangay Bugho (148.00 ha) road project brings multi benefits to the residents, which rely on rice, corn, coconut, banana, and other root crops. The project will benefit a total of 295 household comprising a total of 1,475 residents. This project is being implemented by the Provincial Government thru Provincial Engineer’s Office as implementing unit, contracted by Yu Construction with project duration of 240 calendar days.

The P56,049,366.18 worth of road project, which will connect the barangays of Alegria, Cabadiangan, Candasag, Bugho, Loboc, is also expected to serve 411hectares of rice, corn, coconut, banana, and rootcrop areas.

The infrastructure project is funded under the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP), which aims to build rural infrastructures that will support the value chain of priority commodities.

Capsule laying of the project under the Provincial Government of Bohol- Philippines Rural Development Project (PRDP) and World Bank partnership had begun at 2:00 PM at barangay Alegria led by Provincial Governor Edgar M. Chatto, and joined by Vice Gov. Concepcion “Conching” Lim, Third District Congressman Arthur Yap, Municipal Mayor Helen C. Alaba, Vice Mayor Pablio “Bebot” D. Sumampong and Sangguniang Bayan Members, Barangay Captains, and Barangay Officials of the four (4) beneficiary barangays.

The ceremony was directly preceded by the blessing of the site with the town Parish Vicar, Rev. Fr. Elpidio Udtuhan and leaders then proceeded to the JAD Cultural Center for the program proper. Town Mayor Engr. Helen C. Alaba welcomed National, Provincial and Local leaders and guests who are present in the activity.

Engr. Cirilo Namoc – Visayas Project Deputy Director of PRDP PSO presented the Project Brief and mentioned that Bohol leads in the PRDP implementation with the most project proposals and the first projects to have begun. The farm-to-market road worth Php 56,049,366.18 is under an 80/10/10 counterparting with the World Bank, National and Provincial Government. Lobocanons thanked leaders and agencies for the project as the road has been an integral road network in the town since it opened in 1985.

Third District Congressman Arthur Yap and Governor Edgar M Chatto delivered their messages to the Lobocanons during the program.  .

Beneficiary barangays represented by Punong Barangay, Hon. Susana T. Tampos, delivered her response and thanks to the Province of Bohol leaders as well as National and Local for the implementation of the project which will serve 295 households of the four (4) beneficiary barangays.

The program was closed by the Municipal Vice Mayor, Hon. Pablio “Bebot” D. Sumampong congratulating the beneficiary barangays thru Punong Barangays and Barangay Officials in behalf of the Local Government Unit of Loboc and thanking the national and provincial official for the project.
